C&L Classification
ChemADVISOR is now offering a webinar on CLP and REACH.

The CLP Regulation is based on the Globally Harmonized System for Classification and Labelling. There are a few features of the CLP, however, that are unique.

  1. There is no volume threshold. Classification and labeling notification will be required for all defined hazardous substances, hazardous substances in mixtures, and hazardous substances in articles regardless of volume of manufacture or import.
  2. Transitional period. Classifications according to the Dangerous Substance Directive (DSD) or the Dangerous Preparation Directive (DPD) and according to CLP will both be required on Safety Data Sheets until the time that the Directives are repealed.
